It's the kind of thing that once you see it, you never forget it. Secret messages like the arrow in the Fed Ex logo or the 31 in the Baskin Robbins logo or the arrow point from A to Z in the Amazon logo.
Another example of a message in a mark was one I designed while Creative Director at Evenson Design Group working with the LaBrecque team. As the story goes, Reading Cinemas transformed from a family owned railroad (as in Reading Railroad from the Monopoly game) into entertainment complexes including the Angelika Film Center in NYC. You will see the railroad forming into a filmstrip in the R shaped mark to tell that story.
I love what you did with Reading Cinemas. Very creative and the fact that it tells a story behind it makes it even greater.

A clever idea to have hidden messages in a logo. There are a lot of logos in the web or in the market that are often have hidden icons or messages or symbols. These can be significant number or letters that made the company famous. Secret codes are not new, they're there ever since. It is like decoding, what do you think?

Yes! it is the fun of decoding them; Being in the club; Knowing the secret. It has strong emotional appeal without even meaning to.

That's funny, I never noticed the arrow in the FedEx logo :) There's no doubt that a great logo can make you or break you and some designs are built to last.
